Meditate to deal with anxiety

Meditation or mindfulness is a great way to calm ourselves and deal with any situation we are fronting. We know how good meditation is but lets take a look from the neuroscience perspective.

Basically, 80% percent of our neurons are glutamate and what they do is to excite, provoke other neurons. So principally, the majority of our neurons tend to make us overthink which is not such help when we want throughout circumstances that causes us stress and depression.

While 20% of our neurons are GABAergic and what they do is to inhibit the excitement. So, to increase the levels of Gaba neurons will assist you to make the amygdala less reactive and get less levels of cortisol as well. Which in another words, will get you in a state of calm. You can do that with meditation.

With 20 minutes a day of meditation you can make these neuro chemicals work for you.

You can start slowly to get pace and then keep improving day by day.
